As the boy grew older his hair became wavy so his people gave him the nickname of Curly (Guttmacher 23). He was to go by Curly until the summer of 1858, after a battle with the Arapaho’s. Curly’s bravery in a charge against the Arapaho’s led his father to give him the name Crazy Horse ....
